Academic case competitions allow students specializing in:

  • Accounting**
  • Business Strategy
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Finance**
  • Management of Information Systems
  • Marketing
  • Human Resources
  • International Business

To hone their skills and expertise in these areas, team members will go through rigorous training throughout the year. Students competing in case competitions will work in a team and will meet once a week with an academic advisor (usually a professor within TRSM) for 3 hours to practice cutting cases and presenting them to simulate the challenges of the JDCC academic competition.

Ideal Candidate – JDCC Ryerson Academics

You are majoring in your desired case topic. You have experience in your desired case topic through an internship, your own business or voluntary initiatives (student groups, etc). You are very analytical and can communicate your findings well to a large audience. You handle pressure well and have ideally competed in case competitions before. If yes, try out for the topic (from above) in which you feel most comfortable in analyzing and presenting.

**Delegates applying for Accounting and Finance will selected through a case pool through department heads and RUAS and RUFS student groups.  When you apply your name will go to the Professor running the case pool in which then a selection will be made for JDCC.  If you would like to know more about the accounting case pool please visit this link to RUAS

Students applying for the JDCC Academic competition will be selected for an interview based off of your submission below.  After the deadline of Sept 23rd has been reached, applicants qualified for an interview will be emailed on possible interview dates from Monday Sept 25th – 27th.  Applicants will be notified Oct 1st on team selections.
